Better Collaboration and Innovation Through Teamwork
September 30, 2016 - mmr
This September, all MMR employees gathered at Lake Lanier, Ga., for our annual company meeting and retreat. Our focus for 2016 was to build stronger collaboration through internal information sharing. We also focused on team building after a dynamic year that included five new additions to the team.
How did we spend our time…?
Sharing Best Practices
Often in our industry the speed of business is too great to ensure that all best practices or tips and tricks are shared across an organization. Ensuring that this type of exchange happens within our company really helps strengthen internal processes and protocol, ultimately leading to better project management and client experience.
Sharing Learning from Pilot Tests
As part of our commitment to be a “method agnostic” supplier, we’ve been conducting research-on-research in several areas that are either new to the market or gaining momentum. Teams explained their initial finding and observations about their work on methods like webcam eye tracking and predictive text analytics, and on reporting and analysis tools focused on collaboration and automation. More to come on each of these initiatives on our blog over the next few months!
Team Building (and having some fun!)
What better way to build some team comradery than a little healthy competition! The team participated in a golf cart scavenger hunt which was definitely successful in bringing out the competitive nature in all of us. It must have been quite a site to see all of us speeding around Lake Lanier on golf carts, and hopping on and off to snap lots of photos of things like water towers and eagle statues. The winning team of Sandra Holmes, Andrea Murphy, and Michael Hoban went home with bragging rights!
The annual meeting and retreat has been an MMR tradition since our founding in 1999; while the size of the gathering has grown, the purpose has remained true. As a group, it’s important that we actively recommit to our Core Values for doing business. To continue to earn our clients’ trust by consistently delivering actionable direction, it’s helpful to take stock, to learn from each other, and to reconnect to our shared vision of inspiring confidence.
